Could anyone post pics of the 2012 keyboard? I am a little concerned about ordering a laptop which I can't try out first and at least it would be nice to see the layout of the 2012.

I was also wondering if by some strange chance anyone knew if one of the three Puget Sound stores that Acer lists as resellers would have any in stock?

    Thanks!

Hmm local stores, I too am from south of seattle. If the big strores(circuit city, best buy, compusa) do not carry that model you might want to try Infotech,Computer Sonics,CompuCare,Compusave, or Hard drives northwest. Every time I go to my grocery store (albertsons) I pick up a free computer source magazine, in it has a directory of pretty much every local computer retailer. I am also buying an Acer brand laptop in the very near future. To avoid sales tax I am going to buy online thru newegg.com http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=34-115-117&DEPA=3
Also on newegg they have some good pictures of their models they sell. [ :D]

After a little looking on my own, the only three places listed in Washington that Acer lists as resellers are SEATTLE DATA SYSTEMS, ALDEN ASSOCIATES,and BIG DATA NETWORKS. These all look like places that are highly unlikely to have much of anything in stock.

I saw the pics both from New Egg and a couple other plces but, it is really hard to see the layout of the keys from the angle and magnification of the pics, so if anyone could provide something better I would really appreciate it.

For instance, I was seriously considering the Fujitsu 6210 before I went to Fry's and tried out its keyboard. It was really responsive and nice to type on, but the 'home' and 'end' keys were buried under a function key and I use them a lot while editing text. Also, the delete key was not in the upper right corner, which is what I am used to. I know it is picky, but dropping $1500 on a machine which I will probably use for around 5 years makes me that way. ;)

Well I have a 2012WLMi model that was purchased in the middle east... it has a US layout keyboard with arabic letters on the keys as well as the standard english ones.

I'm in the middle of compiling a review to be posted on notebookreview.com and I will be including a picture of the keyboard.

I actually need some help figuring out the exact type of keyboard layout (i.e Windows seems to have many different possible english keyboard layout settings), because I have as of yet been unable to figure it out.

I took a picture of my keyboard because I've still not managed to figure out exactly what keyboard layout setting to use in Windows XP to get the keyboard to work properly, it seems like a US layout with arabic letters on the keys as well as english, but the <> key in the top-left, under the escape key gives me a tilda ~ sign

There seems to be quite a lot of possible layout settings, but I would appreciate if someone could advise me which one this keyboard is:

Thanks... I am a bit sad to see that it uses the FN-End/Home config ala the Fujitsu 6210. I use those buttons quite a bit for editing. Any comments on the quality and placement of teh keyboard?

    Thanks!
