Hello, I'm from germany, so my english is not so good...
My Question:
My Laptop is an Acer Extensa 2600 (same mainboard as Aspire 3610 and Travelmate 2410).
Chipset: i915GMS/i910GML
I was pinmodding it so the pentium m 735 (1,7ghz) is running on 2,26ghz now...
everything works fine, but my rams are still running on 400mhz (200)... they support 533, 667, 800 mhz... i don't understand this!?!
i thought it have to run on 533mhz (266)... as fast as the fsb...
can someone help me please? any ideas?
here you can see the screens of cpu-z:

Hello Benjamin
The confusion about " Bus speed " " Memory speed " and " Bus bandwidth "
are normal to the most people.
For start I would say that at CPUz , I get what you do, so yes ... your pinmod works.
My CPU its a Dothan with internal multiplier 16X = 16x100 = 1.6G
The BUS = 4X100 = 400
Now it works at 16X 133 = 2128 .
The BUS = 4X 133 = 533
At those laptops , even if they use memory rated to 200Mhz , they operate the memory at only 100 Mhz as default ,
and with the pinmod , we push it to operate at 133.
Now relax and enjoy it .. -
hello kiriakost,
i know that the pinmod is working an i know the difference between bus speed, memory speed etc...
i just wonder why the mainboard not automaticaly set the memory clock to 533mhz... it would be better...
is there no way to do that?
is the memory running on your notebook at 400mhz?
greets -
There is no memory running at 400Mhz in this laptop.
The Intel memory controller works with four channels , its channel works at default 100Mhz , thats your true memory speed with out pinmod.
By pinmod , we force the controller to work at 133 Mhz .
Then theoretically we get the bandwidth of 533 MHz = 133 / 4 ( four channels of 133Mhz its one )
Read more about the INTEL architecture if you need to understand more.
The memory modules can work up to 200 MHz , but in other systems.
This laptop can operate at 133MHz MAX .
And yes we are very happy about it , most laptops of it age ,
can not do that , they maxed out at 100Mhz.
You are getting confused by the memory specs , and the true memory speed.
Final words,
1) you are running high speed memory ( 200 Mhz ) at 133 MHz .
2) with out the pinmod , this laptop does NOT change CPU or memory Bus speeds.
God bless , the man who found pinmod .. -
hello,
no, the memory is running with 100mhz !!!! and not with 133mhz... and thats my problem !!!
i'm not confused by the memory specs... i'm not an amateur...
look at my picture of cpu-z... there you can see it...
please give me a screen-shot from your memory in cpu-z...
i think you don't know what i mean...

When i first looked at it , i did the math wrong for the memory. Though you can force 133mhz fsb, it doesn't look like your going past 100mhz for the memory it's the laptops limitation. Thats what kiriakost was saying.
