Hello!
After using my 5739G for 4 years, I`m thinking of buying new (or just as second) Acer notebook. But, surfing in web I`ve not found new models with such upgrade possibilities, as my 5739G. The following specifications are mandatory:
1. CPU - replacable, Intel manufactured;
2. GPU - replacable, MXM III - Type A or MXM III - Type B;
3. RAM - replacable, upgradable to 8 Gb as minimum.
What would you, NBR users, recommend?
P.S. I`m not so bothered with design, for example. I need new (or just as second) notebook with good possibilities of upgrade. That`s the aim not to buy new notebook after one-two years of using it.

I think 5739 was the last Acer to employ MXM, so that might be a problem.

Thank you, downloads! -
I think that the last Acer with MXM is 8940G. It is 1st gen core i series (usually i7 720QM) platform with MXM 3 slot and I think with enough room for MXM-B GPU, but you'll have to make custom heat-sink for it. You'll get a quad core, compared to your current dual, but it is 3 generations old tech, so it won't be much of a gain. Why not MSI for example?

MXM laptops are pretty expensive these days so im going on budget -
Interested in V3-772 G. It can be ordered with two options: GT750M or GTX760M. Is GTX760M changable? -
No, different MoBos. GT 750 is available only as chip solution, while GTX 760M is available as both MXM module and chip.
-
-
Yes, just a chip and they use different MoBos for the various sub-models.
