Can you pls say the reason....
At the moment i have one with P8600, 4GB, 500GB, GT240m Blue Ray and i want to replace it with one of the above
-
If you like gaming then the AS5740DG-434G64Mn will be much better than the other three simply because its GPU is a step above.
In terms of mobility the 5820TG is probably best, I think it's the lightest in the 15.6'' category of Acer notebooks. It also has the longest battery life. Maybe look for the 5820TG with the ATI 5650 GPU (might be a bit pricier)? -
Unforynately these are the available options... Is the i3 330 to i5 430 difference important?
-
It's noticeable mainly because Core i3 330M is 2130MHz while Core i5 430M goes up to 2533MHz with TurboBoost.
-
So these two left
AS5741G-434G50BN
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium , CPU Intel® Core i5 M430, 2 x 2048 Mb RAM, 500 GB HDD, Nvidia GF 320 1024MB GRAPHIC CARD, Blue Ray Reader, HD Webcam, Battery 6 Cells2.2
AS5740DG-434G64Mn
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium , CPU Intel® Core i5 M430, 2 x 2048 Mb RAM, 640 GB HDD, ATI Radeon HD5650 1024Mb GRAPHIC CARD, Double layer, Webcam + 3D technology, Battery 6 Cells 2.2
at same price....
And GF 320 or HD 5650
Blueray Reader or 3D -
Definitely 5740DG. One thing is I've owned 5740G for past 10 months and so far so good- both quality-wise and performance-wise.
The other thing is that you can buy a Blu-ray drive on e-bay whenever you decide to do so (while you can't upgrade the GPU) so 5740DG makes more sense overall. -
Yeah GF 320 doesn't stand a chance against ATI 5650. the 320 is only a rebranded GT130M, which is several generations behind, while the 5650 is a current-gen graphics card.
-
And theoretically, if the 5740DG has a Hybrid Graphics function, you'd be able to disable the Radeon HD 5650 and coast on the Core i5's GMA HD when on battery.

What do you think of GF 420 vs HD5650
Thank you all for your valuable help -
Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
the 5650 still blows the gt420m out of the water.
looking at the review done over the dell xps, which holds a gt 435m and a i7 740qm, over the various i5 system with the 5650m there was a little performance gain, a very little.
So yeah, it gets smoked. just buy a 5650 system. -
