I have a travelmate 4010, using windows xp proffessional has an intel pentium processor 1.6GHZ and 496 MB . I have deleted several programs to try and free up disk space. I am not able to defragment as I'm told there is not enough memory to do so. I notice that the c drive has 26 GB used and 218 MB free there is also a D drive that has 26.2 GB Free and only 413 MB used. Not sure what the D drive is ....any suggestions

Merge the partitions using a tool like Acronis Disc Director or Partition Magic. Then you will have 26 GB free on C and D will no longer exist. You will want to back-up your data. I am pretty sure these tools will merge the partitions without losing data but you should always back up just incase.
