So I am in the process of doing some minor upgrades to my 6920g, gonna be adding a T9500 and 500gb drive in about a week, and was curious if it is at all possible to add a blu-ray drive to my model. Now I know several models had the option to come shipped with the drive and a quick search on google came up with replacement drives for those models, so mainly I want to know if any of them will work in my 6920-6864.

Also on a semi unrelated note I am trying to find the 6920g service guide to help me with the processor upgrade, but all I can find online are places selling it. I know the link to it can't be posted here but if someone has it let me know and we can get in touch elsewhere. thanks.

Thanks for covering for me, JV. ;)
TurnX, welcome to NBR-Acer! I hope you stick around and contribute as much as you can.

Adding the Blu-ray drive shouldn't be too much of a problem - it seems to be a simple one-screw slide-in job, and since you've got the 9500M GS, your system should be more than capable of playing BDs. You should probably get/keep Acer Arcade Deluxe, though - you need that to play Blu-ray movies.

But remember your were not supposed to update the Acer Arcade Deluxe, because then you won't be able to play blu - ray, as I have heard.

also, dont forget that you will need whql certified graphics drivers for blueray playing (either original from acer or newer ones from nvidia)
