Man, I was about to sell this laptop and use the money to buy an alternative one because the screen is just awful.

The glossiness is not so terrible but the viewing angles are just atrocious. Even just sitting in my chair I have to adjust the tilt every once in a while due to slight changes in how I am sitting. And forget trying to watch a movie with a friend, you won't get a nice picture since neither of you will be viewing the screen completely straight on. And of course the low resolution...

Anyway, I am wondering if there's any possible way to replace the panel for a better one. Even if it's the same resolution would be fine, as long as the viewing angles are much better. An upgrade in resolution would be excellent as well, I know the Nvidia 540m is more than capable of handling it as there are other systems with that GPU and full HD screens. I see a few sites offering panel replacements, but I am not sure of the quality and if they happen to be the same resolution.

Any help would be appreciated, the screen is holding this nice machine back.. way way back.

Glossy screens usually have poor viewing angles (especially vertical angle is poor) so why don;t you just try to find a matte screen.
It's doesn't seem you find contrast of brightness particularly bad- it's viewing angles so matte is the way to go.
