I have an ACER Aspire 1690 and the power supply inside the notebook broke. I'm talking about the metal prong inside the notebook where you plug in your power cord.
Can I replace that part separately or do I have to replace the entire mother board for that? Because I believe it is attached to the mother board. I kept the piece when it broker and fell out, so is there any way to sauter it back on?
What do you recommend?
Thank you!![]()

it can be re-soldered if you are willing to take the risk or let a friend do it.
a shop or Acer will probably try to sell you a replacement MB. don't do it.
EDIT: sorry, if it's under warranty, i'd say send it in unless you don't want to be w/out your computer. if so, then it's DIY. -
Thank you for your help! I really appreciate it. Liza

just remember that the soldering is a precision job, so take all necessary precautions.
not trying to scare you into not doing it, just don't want you to be cavalier about it. -
