I looking to get a laptop (UK model 230v) of either the Ferrari 3200 or the Aspire 2012WLMi, not decided which.
I am planning on taking it abroad and want to know if the power supply has a switch to go between the 110v and 230v? If not, will a standard travel plug adapter work, or would I need some kind of step-down transformer?
Additionally, I need an external hard disk. Are there any problems connecting a USB powered hard disk to the Acer's? I've read reports than some portables don't supply the USB enough power to drive an external hard disk. Would I be better with an external hard disk that has it's own power supply?
Thanks in advance.

on the power supply it says (ferrari 3200)
input 100~240v
output 19v
and if I'm not mistaking it means that any range between 100v to 240v is ok, that is you will only need to buy a standared travel plug adapter. it does not have any switch for this purpose it does it automatically.
