Got an old acer aspire 3680 which isn't booting. I believe the power supply is gone. Here's why:

    * With the battery in and connected to the ac when pushing the power button the battery light flashes several times.
    * With the battery in only when pushing the power button the battery light flashes several times.
    * With it connected to ac only when pushing the power button no light flashes.
There are no beeps or fans spinning. Tried rotating RAM's to no avail. I believe that the battery was empty hence the reason it doesn't boot with the battery in.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks

If the AC adaptor is dead, the battery is likely to be drained as well. That means when you press the power button, it shouldn't flash at all. You might test the actual plug of the AC adaptor with voltmeter to confirm.
