I have an Aspire 3680 and my first power adapter began to break cos it became really tempermental and if you moved it wouldnt charge.

Then after i replaced it the new adapter done the same thing but I have realised that the new adapters internal diameter of the plug is slightly bigger and it is now beginning to overheat.

    Any suggestions?

Contact Acer and ask for a new one. They are the ones that gave you a faulty one and so they should give you a new one. Assuming eveything is brand new here.

BTW, I wouldn't go tinker on this myself. If something goes wrong you could end up destroying your lappy with a faulty adapter.

yeah, im on a second 3rd party adapter. it seems to be holding together better than the stock one did. the stock one shorted out between the adapter end and the little round box thing where the fan is.
