Ok so I've bought Deadrising 2 and the installation is taking forever! If I change the priority of "setup" in task manager, will this reduce the time it takes to instal?

No it won't. Something else is limiting it- not the process priority- most likely DVD drive or HDD.

Are you installing from DVD? Are you sure the media is readable (as in not scratched)?

Just cancel it, wait until installer finished rolling back. Reboot just for the sake of it and try again.

Download DirectX installer from MS and let it install the most recent DX.
If the game uses nVidia PhysX- download the most recent version from nVidia and install it too (that's before trying to install the game).
Also to confirm that the DVD is fine copy the whole DVD to your HDD- while it's there you might as well try to install it from HD.
Also have you visited publisherÂ’s website- maybe it's a known issue and there's a known fix or way around it?

BTW- use EDIT button instead of multi-posting.

    Sorry :)

I've rebooted and made an ISO image of the disk with magic iso and mounted it using daemontools lite. Now it's managed to get halfway as opposed to 1/4. Fingers crossed it doesnt stay here as long

    That means DVD is OK.
Something else stalls it- disable your AV software for the duration of the installation.

Yes. Anti-virus or any other security software that may try to scan game cab files.

Ok, this is what eventually happened:

I re-booted via the start menu, then made an ISO image of the disk. Using Daemontools Lite I installed the game off that and now it's working fine. Thank you for the help you gave me :)
What is strange though is that I was facing the same problem throughout each and every time i tried installing. I left it for about another hour then, even with the progress bar 1/2 still to go, it suddenly just said "Deadrising 2 has been successfully installed" Is this strange or what?
