    Hi

I have bought "Acer aspire TravelMate 5730".

I have installed windows xp professional. I want to change my bios setting for Sata mode to "IDE" to "AHCI" for that I have to install AHCI Drivers into win xp but I am not able to install AHCI drivers in win xp.

Whenever I am trying to install AHCI drivers, system gives me error

"System does not meet minimum requirements"

Please help if anyone knows, how to install AHCI drivers?

correct me if i'm wrong, but you don't want to change the format of your chipset and how Windows XP reads it after this is set up. Vista / Windows 7 reads the content on the HDD differently and does not go though SATA and instead goes though AHCI instead. It's possible to enable AHCI, but no real world benefit will come of it (that's my opinion on that btw)

    Hi.

You might want to just incorporate the drivers into your install disk, I also had difficulties installing mine, so give it a try. Try using nLite, and then integrate the drivers for your AHCI on the install files of your WinXP disk, and then burn it onto another disk.. I know there's a guide about that here somewhere *looks around* oh here it is! :D courtesy of sir Gregory here.
