    Hello,
I have an Acer Aspire 7740 notebook. I just replaced a failed hard drive with a new Seagate 320 GB drive. The system powers up and displays the message no operating system found as expected. I have 4 disks provided by Acer. I booted the notebook with the system recovery disk. From there, when prompted by the display, I loaded the first Recovery disk and chose English as the language. It appeared to be loading Windows 7, but then goes back to the screen asking me to choose a language selection. I did contact Acer support and was told that since my notebook is out of warranty, I should contact a tech. The Acer website does not seem to provice much help with the reinstallation process.
Any help with this problem would be appreciated.
    Thanks... :)

Sounds like a bad sector on the recovery disk. You might be better off just doing a clean install if you can't get it to work. Here is my clean install guide. http://forum.notebookreview.com/6465732-post1612.html Try an external optical drive if you have access to one just to make sure its not your notebook drive's problem. Let us know how it goes.
