Have an acer 5920g with toshiba dvdw/hd ts-l802a ata. After a short period (some minutes) of playing a dvd, it starts making weird and unpleasent sounds, and it can't read the disc properly. I have tried different software (vlc, arcade, media player). And I have tried two dvd's that was brand new, never taken out of box. It usually run cd's okay though. weird.

Also burning dvd's don't seem to work. I tried burning same images 3 times, but same error occured every time. Don't remember if it has happened when I have burned cd-r's though.

So... Is the player broken, or is it some software/Firmware that maybe can fix this? Does someone know? Do someone have any experience with this player?

Well, I guess I have get it repaired, and they probably have to change the player. I wonder if there is a chance to get a blu-ray player instead in that case... Again, if someone have some experience with this, I would appreciate that information :)
