Hi, I've just acquired an Acer Aspire 5920g laptop. It powers on and powers off again after 2 seconds. I have checked all components and they seem to be ok, I have had the video card redone but the only parts on the laptop that light up are the charging light and the on/off board. I am unfamiliar with this model so any help would be appreciated

I guess the battery is shorted. Did you try booting without a bettery?

Try booting with the MXM card removed.

Check if the heatsinks are making good contact. This could be overheating.
