I got problem with older Aspire 1520:

It has some problem with HDD. When I turn it on, it says "No OS found". If I use Win XP install CD, everything is fine, until I have to select where to install. Harddisk looks like there's no partition and If I choose to make partition it does nothing (no error or something, only jump back to screen, where I have to choose which disk - and there's still no partition.). So I tried this HDD in another notebook and it works fine. I installed OS in this ntb and put disk back - still "No OS found".
I also tried boot from Knoppix Live CD and the notebook worked fine.
Does anyone have some idea?? Thanx a lot.... rampouch

Is the laptop detecting the HD at start up or in BIOS?

If it is try to delete all partitions first and then create a new one.
