    Hello!

Today i bought the new Acer 8930G with the Touchpad on the left of the keyboard. The touchpad works great, i can stop tracks, skip tracks and mute. But i cant control the loadness of the sound. The touchpad gives a reaction (the LED lights when i touch the sound-regulator), but the software doesnt recognize it. The sound just stays the same!

I deinstalled a lot of software, maybie i got the wrong one and there's a conflict now or something??

If i cant bring that to work, i'd like to be able to make regulate the sound via keyboard (a button to make it bit louder and a button to make it a bit less louder), how can i do that?

    Best Regards

If you uninstalled the Acer software then the sound won't work properly. To turn volume up, tap the top part of the volume circle thing. To turn volume down, tap the far bottom. The amount of lit up ticks on the dial won't reflect the actual system volume, and dragging your finger along the dial has little to no effect on the volume. Just tap the ends.

    PERFECT!

    Thank you!!

The whole time i was draggin the finger around (because it looks like you have to drag - lol ).

Now i tried tipping or just holding the finger on an and and it works perfectly!!!

They shoulda made it more clearer, i think i wont be the only one dragging his finger to death on this touchpad :D

    Happy new year everyone!

    Cheers

Glad I helped. Well, Acer meant for you to install their software, and with those software the volume actually drags normally.

I'm also having problems with the touchpad's volume control everything else works though. Is there any way to fix this by re installing something or some other way.

If Acer programs weren't such bloatware (meaning if only the drivers and bare essentials to make certain features run properly are installed) then they could remain ... otherwise, treat them as unnecessary excess programs and remove them ASAP.

Yes, I know, I'm not advocating for Acer, in fact I installed Ultimate SP1 x86 over the default Home Premium SP1 x64. And took only the basic drivers. Right now I've excluded my fingerprint reader, Acer Arcade, Cine Dash driver, and all The Acer software and Empower or something.

I was just saying that Acer wouldn't include a manual saying tap the top and bottom since they expect you to keep their software.

all this touch sensitive stuff pisses me off. i mean the could have just given me buttons to use like my M1530/FW11E.

normal buttons are a lot easier to use.
