I'm trying to install Forceware 158.45 for my 8600M GT for my 5920G. It's been taking a long time to install, and I'm beginning to get worried that it will never end(been going on for 15 minutes now!). I don't want to restart my system because it might make it unstable. I did make a system recovery DVD, but it's still VERY inconvenient to have your laptop messed up.

Does installing a new driver generally take this long? Will my laptop REALLY MESS UP badly if I restart it while it's installing(I don't even know if it's installing right now).

i've not heard of it taking a long time; although antivirus scanners can sometimes slow the process down to a crawl.
if its still installing try disabling the antivirus if you have some running.
