I have an Acer Aspire 5715 with dual core of 1,86 Ghz.
The problem is with the temperature of the microprocessor. Without doing anything , with few programs that are working in the background the temperature stays at 55-60 degrees Celsius. If i open a game the temperature almost instantly rises at 75-80 degrees. When i mean instantly , I mean not after 1,2 minutes, i mean instantly. And after 15-30 minutes the computers shutdown probably because of the temperature of microprocessor.

As i said if i open a game instantli rises at 75-80.
For me this looks too exagerate , i mean at 75 degrees the radiator should burn me on the hand, but is just warm.
Has anybody encountered this problem, i know that the sensor could be broken but i know that they are very resistent and my laptop is just bought , i have 6 months since i bought it, so are very small chances.
Another solution on what i read is to upgrade my bios , but i'm afraid that are high risk, i could ruin my laptop if i don't put the right bios.
Please help me if you know any idea of resolving this problem.

There could be many reasons for this, like:
1. The laptops need cleaning every 2 months or so otherwise the fan and heatsink get clogged with dust and this greatly increase the temperature of the CPU due the lack of cooling.
2. ACER has known fan problems with some models. However, being a 5715 owner myself, I've never experienced such problem so I doubt BIOS update will fix it.
3. The fan might not be working anymore, you should verify that.
4. The thermal paste. Maybe there is a very little amount of paste on your CPU which, with time, is not enough anymore so the heat transfer is far from optimum which cause the quick overheating. -
Thanks, i can believe how much dust was betwen ventilator and heater. now the temperature stay 30-40 degree.
Thanks very much.
I had before this, an Toshiba laptop and an Asus, both to get to the CPU and the ventilator need to unclutch a lot of clamps, it was very difficult, at this one was very easy and I didn't loose the guaranty. Good joob Acer !!!!
