    Hi,

I just got an Acer V5-561G-6407 a few weeks ago but for some reason the switchable graphics are not working properly. It detects most games properly, but one MMO I play it will only play on power saving no matter what I do. I have set it on high performance in CCC and changed all of my settings to maximize performance, but it is still running it off of the integrated graphics which is making the game laggy and difficult to play. The whole reason I bought this laptop was that it had dedicated graphics so I'm pretty frustrated by this.

I've seen, through extensive searching, that this is a problem for many people with switchable graphics. I have tried most of the suggested fixes I found already, like updating the drivers and updating catalyst, and I tried to change settings in the BIOS but I do not have any graphics options in there that I could find. A lot of people were using a modded BIOS to get the option to switch to just the dedicated card which I would love to do (I honestly don't care about battery life, this always stays plugged in), but I couldn't find anything on my particular model. I don't know a whole lot about computers so I'm really unsure about what to do here, and any suggestions would be appreciated!

One of the reasons why I`m not buying new ACER laptops... Old systems, but with MXMIII slot, still are capable to beat up modern ACER laptops.

    Sorry for offtopic.

It seems that there is no modded BIOS available for your laptop yet. Thus, you have to search for modified video drivers, maybe some enthusiasts managed to configure them for maximum performance at all the time. If not, you have to continue to use such performance profile while playing exact this MMO and wait until it will be changed by driver/BIOS update.

By the way, which MMO you are playing and facing such problems? If it is well known, maybe later, that issue will be fixed in driver updates.

In addition, you can try and install drivers for your GPU provided by ACER exactly for your laptop. For example, in order to make my 5739G`s subwoofer work, I have to install sound drivers provided exactly by ACER - other version (or the same version, but downloaded from sound card manufacturers site) doesn`t work.

Or, maybe, some of the more experienced users will help you.
