You might want to post a screen shot, just to help clarify the issue you're trying to describe.

the screen turns blue and something white like your computer has been turned of for safty resons or something like that. Could the drivers not be OK cuz the ones i donwloaded are not original ones'?

    With ALL my respect.

You have to be more kind or polite or even organized to ask a question, cause it´s almost impossible to understand you or your failure, you need to be more specific dude, there are trillions of failures...

So it's BSOD..go to Start->Programs->Administrative Tools run Event Viewer. Go to 'System' and try to find the error( Save Dump), double click on it and post the info here. Should be something like this:

You can find the Administrative Tools in the Control Panel too.

You said you have XP right? Do you have any service pack installed? If yes, which one?

Do you let Windows to Update automatically?

Hmm.. do you have Creative Audigy sound card? If you do, updating the drivers should solve the problem..

If you don't, you might consider installing SP3..

I cannot find an easy solution for this BSOD..the problem could be caused by anything,

The problem could be related from drivers to hardware issues...But I don't know how to find what's wrong exactly.

The problem could be the soundcard if, like I said before, you have Creative Audigy and you don't have the latest drivers.

    If I were you, I'd install SP3..

ACER do not provide XP drivers anymore..but if you've downloaded the correct drivers it shouldn't be a problem..

You never told me if you have the Creative Audigy soundcard?

does your laptop have a MEMORY CARD READER??

that may be what the PCI MEMORY CONTROLLER is...

i've seen the RICHO driver for XP on the ACER euro website
    for other Aspire models

Dude, you could answer your question faster, because we're just guessing. It's really hard to find what exactly is the device with missing drivers remotely. I'd suggest to look over your laptop's specs, and check IF you are supposed to have some hardware, but cannot use it(not installed, not listed in the Device Manager). If not, its most probably the chipset driver, I'd reinstall it..

I would do this if I get an exclamation mark and don´t know what it is:

Right click the item with exclamation mark under device manager, choose "Properties" and then enter "Details", once in there surf the first 3, 4 or 5 items (Device Id, Hardware Id, Coincident Hardware ID, etc), it will give you some "codes" which uniquely identifies your hardware, try copy-paste and google that codes, it will luckily give you the right answer.

I´ve solved many many issues like yours with this method.

    Hope it helps!!!

    P.S:
That Hotfix is actually inside de driver package from Realtek and should install itself within sound drivers install ;)

    REGARDS!!!

Glad to hear you solved that! It tought of Robson but I discarded it cause you said you had downloaded all drivers from Acer´s and Intel Robson driver is one of the listed there.

    Any news about BSOD´s???

    Regards!!!

    PS:
Yeah your right, sometimes it may not auto-installs. I said it mostly for him to know where to "find" it instead of re-downloading the fix as it´s included in Realtek pack. Later
