the Aspire 4530 is an AMD CPU based system,, that uses an Nvidia Gforce 9100M g, and has SATA or IDE options in the BIOS...
after slipstreaming the AMD and NVIDIA drivers into an CUSTOM CD using Nlite.. when doing a CLEAN install, i get a BSOD ERROR.... (no matter the HDD interface setup in the BIOS) so i don't see this as a SATA driver issue. right now i suspect the BROADCOM GIGABIT EXTREME ethernet
STOP: 0x0000007B (data to come) i don't have it in front of me
then i attempted to used a HDD with a working image from MY ASPIRE 5315, i get a different BSOD stop: 0x00000007e (0xc000005, 0xba1b8756, 0xba4d342c, 0xba4d3128),,
while this allows me to boot in safe mode, as soon as i try to boot into safe mode w/ networking i get the FIRST STOP CODE listed above.
in safe mode i can load drivers and have everything installed with NO unknown devices.... but until i can boot normally those loaded drivers don't initilize,, so despite being able to get the drivers "installed"... they never get loaded fully due to the PC not booting in normal mode
i'll be posting more info such as NVIDIA & AMD hardware...
the thing that is killing me is that i have all XP drivers for this MODEL.... the XP INSTALL IT'S SELF is currently causeing my downfall
thanks for any help you can provide,,

you bios has ide option then set to that try install

or check you laptop bios for option like sata disk mode they be choice like ahci ide compabiltly
the blue screen you get is cause xp does have,nt driver for you sata control
Device Driver Issues
You may receive a "Stop 0x0000007B" error message in the following scenarios:• A device driver that the computer boot controller needs is not configured to start during the startup process.
• A device driver that the computer boot controller needs is corrupted.
• Information in the Windows XP registry (information related to how the device drivers load during startup) is corrupted.
Windows XP requires a miniport driver to communicate with the hard disk controller that is used to start your computer. If Windows XP does not supply a device driver for your controller or if Windows XP is using a corrupted or incompatible driver, you must replace the driver with a valid copy that is compatible with your controller and Windows XP.
During the first phase of the Windows XP installation, Setup displays the following message at the bottom of the screen:
Press F6 if you have to install a third-party SCSI or RAID driver.
Press F6 and then follow the instructions to install a mass-storage device driver from your Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). For additional information about using F6 to load an OEM device driver to support, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: -
but never get the message related to SATA saying XP cannot locate the hard drive.
i have a feeling that the stopcode is related to the GIGBIT EXTREME broadcom network hardware...
any clue what file i need to embedd into an NLITE install disk? i've tried all the latest from NVIDIA,, the ACHI DOS driver found at a CERTAIN ACER site..
and still get the dreaded BSOD error.
i'll try again w/ a newly created disk and see what happens...
any other help from anyone is greatly appreiceated
thanks,
ken -
this is the stop code i get when installing off of either RETAIL XP CD or when using an NLITE modified XP CD that includeds the DOS AHCI driver and the NVIDIA CHIPSET DRIVER.
STOP: 0x00000007B (0xF78AA63, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
the error below is the error i get when booting XP from a HDD removed from a different PC and installing it in the ASPIRE 4350.
STOP: 0x00000007e (0xc000005, 0xba1b8756, 0xba4d342c, 0xba4d3128)
link #2 on that page seems to indicate it could be caused by the BUILT-IN LAN and the NFORCE DRIVERS for it? any thoughts?
i also get the same error when booting the preloaded HDD into SAFEMODE WITH NETWORKING....
but when booting into SAFE MODE only.... the ASPIRE 4350 loads and detects hardware even loading drivers for it....
so i'm stuck.... i have no clue where to go or what to try next...
this seems to be the only place where a person can get a timely answer,, at most sites you are lucky to get any answer at all...
for convience i have linked GOOGLE SEARCH RESULTS for each stop code, but i have yet to discover anything that has been of much help in resolving my issue
any help is appriecated,
thanks

Have you try adding the drivers from sata from vista they might work
ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_4530/vista/Drivers/Chipset_NV_v.(17.05_logo).zip
I also found this http://www.acer.co.th/acerthai2/ind...d_description&search_=&Submit= ok &c_page=1 -
thanks for those files andy... i'll be trying that in the AM
-
BUMP... BTW apire 5315 bios ver 1.44 in beta testing
-
slipstreaming is not always the best way.
Ken I am sure you have a bootable floppy drive.
Its a pain, but it alwys works. I had similar problems with my clevo d900k and installing xp, and I had to turn back to the powerful floppy to bespeak life.
Simply download the sata drivers for the floppy disk. put the file on a floppy disk, and then insert the floppy into a windows 95 machine. Than copy the file to the harddrive in the win 95 machine. Than format the floppy and make it a bootable floppy. You can only do this in windows 95, but it works. Also make sure to name the floppy the name of the sata driver.
Than format the floppy to make it bootable. Than put the sata driver back on the floppy while still in windows 95.
Than put the floppy in a bootable floppy drive and you are set my friend.
I hope that helps, cause I am sure you are frustrated.
K-TRON -
i hope 98SE will suffice,, that one i can manage,,
and i have access to a USB FLOPPY.... i don't own one since this is the first laptop i've owned that didn't have one... i hate to admit it but my last laptop was a Toshiba w/ a pentium (no mmx)
so i guess it's time to call in a favor and borrow that floppy drive...
i guess i'll be hooking up the old HP w/ 98 on it... unless there is a reason it has to be 95 (like needing command prompt only?) -
It does matter what os you make sata floppy disk on it can be xp vista does,nt matter just copy file to the disk is all that need with file layout intact
-
its not a hardware problem.
corrupt or incorrect driver issues must be the answer.
Phil -
thanks phil,,
i've come to the same conclusion myself... and the more i reflect on it,, i know it's a driver/hardware conflict with drivers being loaded by XP
now i have to borrow a floppy drive and see if K-TRON's suggestion helps.
i know i've seen stranger things... -
P2k10 bump... bump...
-
So did anyone find the solution for this? Because I have a solution for this..
-
I'd love to see how this ends....I'm about to do the same thing on my 4530 when it gets here....
Thanks! -
This solution in Yahoo worked well for me

If the error is BLUE Screen while setup process, you've to change a setting in BIOS.
1) Press F2 while booting up.
2) Go to Main, then SATA Mode
3) Change to IDE Mode (NOT AHCI Mode)
4)Press F10 and hit Enter (That'll save the changes and quit).
That solved my problem. -
