    Hello!
It's since I have bought the HD4670 MXM II that I have problems with it. I bought it in January.

First problem: every time I format and do a fresh install of Windows 7, I have to remember to disconnect the AC Adapter from the 5920G because when it installs Microsoft's GPU Driver the HD4670 with the core @675MHz (it's strange but @400MHz it goes fine) will go into a loop that will cause a freeze and a BSOD. Idk why...

Second problem: Crazy Overheat. This HD4670 overheats like crazy. For example, today I runned a FurMark benchmark. 640x360 No AA, Xtreme Burn-In. After 7-8 minutes it was at temperatures like 121-123 degrees celsius (!!). It isn't normal. With 8600M GT in the same conditions I have 86 degrees celsius maximum! Anyway I put a brass shim which is composed of 80% copper and 20% zinc. And this is what it does even with this. I will soon change to REAL copper ;) hoping that the temperatures will change!

Third problem: the Fan. I think BIOS have to be patched to recognize correctly the temps of the HD4670 because the fan does not react the same way as with the 8600M GT....
While running FurMark with 8600M GT the fan will spin faster than with the HD4670. It's funny because 8600M GT doesn't overheat and the fan spins like hell and HD4670 overheats at like 120 degrees and the fan stay really really quiet! It's like the motherboard is saying to me: "I wanna burn baby, I WANNA BURN!" :D :p
    Really really funny :D

So, I want to solve this problems and I want to know if BIOS have to be patched for recognizing the GPU temps fine...maybe the MXM Structure it's not 100% correct for it or....Idk :D

    Thanks at all! ;)

    P.S.: Here's the HD4670's vBIOS View attachment M96.zip

The 4670 requires an undervolt to stay under safe gaming temperatures. Also the 8600M GT is 20W TDP and the 4670 is 35W TDP so the heat is explained by that.

It's funny how 15W can completely change the game! Really strange IMHO

Referring to the first problem: this is what happens when I try to boot up Mac OSX (even with Core @400MHz)....it also happens sometimes with Windows: :(

    It's like this:

This demonstrate that the GPU it's not even able to operate correctly at stock speeds....so I think I will reflow the GPU (if that's the problem) or RMA it at this point!

Possibly your card is a "fake" 4670, that is, a 4650 flashed with 4670's BIOS. The chip may not be able to run at 4670 speeds.

BTW, No talking about running Mac OS X on non-Apple hardware on this forum. Ever.

Thanks NetRoller for making me thinking of it!
Now, I really think this is a Fake 4670! Because when I try to overclock the Core (even if only @700MHz) there are many artifacts on screen.
And with 8600M GT I can overclock up to 90+ MHz and still no artifacts!
Also, in this "4670" VBIOS strings like "Reported chip type" and "Hardware Specs String" are reporting this is "M96" instead of "M96-XT" (the HD4670 core)

So what I'm about to do is:
    1. Put a copper shim between the heatsink and the GPU BGA
    2. Flash the Acer HD4650 Mobility VBIOS ( techPowerUp! :: VGA Bios Collection: ATI HD 4650 1024 MB ) on this Fake 4670 (Can you confirm me that it will work, please? Thanks!)
    3. And only if necessary, try a reflow of the BGA and Memory chips

Put copper, reflash the vBIOS (the one you linked should be OK). The new vBIOS should bring your core voltage from 1.2v (default for 4670) to 1.1v (default for 4650). If not you'll have to edit it with RBE to lower the voltages.

When I'm going to flash the HD4650 VBIOS, RBE says that the Checksum mismatch! What can I do?

EDIT: New VBIOS Flashed using the "Force Flash" Option in RBE. Now I don't want to reboot :D

Now my lappy is dead.... The LCD just stays blank. Can I try a blind flash? And How? Thanks!

You do have a copy of your original vBIOS, right? If so, put the USB in there wait 10-15 seconds, type "atiflash -p -f 0 biosname.rom", hit enter, wait 20-30 seconds, or until your laptop reboots (if not, reboot it manually), and that's pretty much it.

EDIT: Where did you get your card? If you don't have dumped vBIOS, you could try contacting the seller, or also you could contact MXM-Upgrade, I think that their version is the one matching yours.
