Hello whatzup
Well I just Bought the last saturday an acer gemstone blue 6920. The model with the intel gma x3100 and it came with Windows Vista Premium. The first thing that i did was to install the newest drivers of vga..i downloaded them from the intel website but the results were ugly..
I decided to downgrade the OS to Windows XP Pro...And I did it i have to put my HD on IDE MODE from the bios and install without a problem..
I downloaed the xp drivers...
After this i played fifa 09 but in two time the game crashes and when i closed the game with ALT+F4 i saw the next message:
THE SCREEN DRIVER IGXPRD2 STOP WORKING etc etc and the screen went like if I doesnt have any driver so i have to restart
Searching via google I found that there is an old driver (6.14.10.4859) that makes the performance on gaming a little better...well i found the driver and installed.
The results? Yeah it was true the fps in games were a little better but when it seems to be all normal THEN THE GAME CRASHES AND BSOD!!!
Yeah Blue screen of death so i have to restart...only have been happenned two times and the gameplay is much better than with the latest drivers but i need to do something with that BSOD...It doesn't appear much but its a problem.....
Someone knows anything about this?
And I have something more..In the device administrator there are two devices that i dont know what are..Them are BUS Controller SM and USB Device
I dont kno what are this things...my webcam is working fine BTW
I hope someone can help me with this things
Thanks!

You didn't install the chipset driver, maybe this is the cause of all your problems the BSODs. You can get the driver from here. -
I'll try installng the chipset driver thank!
-
Well I jus installed the driver and now the BUS Controller SM its ok but the listed USB Device still there i dont know what is this...my usb ports works all alright
BTW my key FN in combination with left and right arrows to configure the bright of the screen doesnt work
Can i configure the key(icon of a person) of the cinedash to open the itunes or something else?
Do I need any more drivers? -
SOSA...
Yawn -
-
It could be one of four things:
1. Save Our Specialist Advice
2. Silly Old Stuff Again
3. Same Old Symptoms Again
4. Same Old Shit Again
It's one of the four.
Anyway, it's a good idea to learn how and why your lappie works before you start changing things at random.
At least then you know where you are coming from. So you know where you might have gone wrong.
A simple Google search will help you sort out the SOSA you created. -
I was going to put the url from the website where i downloaded the drivers for this laptop and everything seems to be Ok..I only have this few problems but if you dont want to help maybe only you have to not post here
thanks anyway -
To have your brightness control arrows to work properly, you need Acer Launch Manager to be installed.
Is it? -
Thanks -
You see, I cannot help you further. Please mate, if you manage to sort this lappie out - please do things next time one step at a time.
You have done so much stuff and changed so many things at the same time that you don't really know now where to start to get all to work properly.
And neither do I.
I have owned an Acer 5684WLMi running Xp since December 2006. Countless re - installs using the hidden partition as the recovery method and never a problem ever.
I know and undertand how my Acer lappie works and can pick up anything unusual very quickly.
Good luck
Cheers,
