    Processor sound(fan sound) is coming from my lappy
    Hi frends...Im using acer aspire 5920 lappy from may2008......im using my lappy 15 hours per day.....when im working with my lappy .... an internal sound(some thing like fan sound) is coming from it...that is i think the processor sound...i dont know what it is....

    I have installed oracle 11g in my lappy and iam working with oracle daily...is thhis may any cause to this sound?

    please tell me that if this sound may damage my lappy? please help with some tips to avoid this sound.....................

    you mean you're hearing the fan/cooler in your laptop, and you're worried about that? me personally, i'd only be worried if i didn't hear it... ;)

    Yeah........the computer is supposed to make that sound.

    well obviously it won't last as long as a laptop used 1h a day... but as long as you don't have it running CAD calculations or rendering all the time, it shouldn't take actual damage.

    As whizzo said, it shouldn't cause any damage. However, you may want to keep an eye on the heat sink and fan as they will get caked with dust eventually. Some fans are easy to remove, some are rather complicated to remove. It all depends on how the computer was designed.
