    Hi everyone

this is my first post here,I liked this site and i liked the forums even more.

First i wanted to say that im not totally noob!!!....i know enough info that i think its enough for me

    Aaaaanyway.....

I bought an Acer Aspire 5920 and i am more than satisfied with

But I wanted to overclock (processor,ram,gpu...) if its possible so that i can gain more performance from it.

you see I can play Oblivion 4 in a vv good quality near to that of an Xbox360 but when you go out in the beautiful nature the frame rate become really bad

    So the question is:

Is there any way to overclock the gpu at least without the need for extra cooling stuff or without destroing the laptop?

Also what are the programmes which is needed for that purpose??

If anyone knows, please tell me and I would be really greatfull....

Thats all, thanks for your time.....

You can OC your GPU using RivaTuner & Use 3Dmak06 to Bench it....

Install Nvidia Driver version 158.45 Modded from Laptopvideo2Go.com

    Mine stable @ GPU 590Mhz \Memory 470Mhz :D

I still not touch to CPU & System memory :)

After using rivatuner, which bigspin recommended instead of the buggy ATItool vista beta version, i am now able to get a stable overclock of 650/500 from 475/400 with no side effects

Be afraid of temps above 58 Celsius in the cores. Install "speedfan"
    to watch for that.

Good luck. It sounds like you're being sucessfull at your overclocking.

    58C is very low heat
.you can't keep your heat under that value if you are playing games or using hi process power need apps.

My GPU hit 75-85C While playing games & CPU Hit 75-82C Max .
laptop chips can handle hi heat without worry . Make sure you never pass
90C with CPU & 95C with GPU, those are the critical levels(Actually throttling levels)

    CPU shutdown temp level-100C
    GPU shutdown temp level-110C

Wow! I have read so much advice about notebook computers
saying to keep the core temps in the 55 to 58 degree celsius
range. Mine stays at 48 max now that I've got a Targus chill mat
    under it. :p

Is orthos a cpu test utility? I'll have to google that. :)
