    Hello everyone,

I would like to know if you could help me. The graphics card, ATI HD3470 216-0707009 MXM2 DDR2 512M, from my dear old Acer Aspire 7720g has died. After looking and reading in some places I decided to buy a new card for my old computer, I have already bought it, more specifically one:

    HP NVIDIA Quadro FX 770M
    BIOS Version 62. 94. 90. 00. 06.
    S / N CN9311387

Is this graphics card compatible with my Acer Aspire 7720G? Have I made a bad purchase? If this card should work on my computer, is there a humane way to install it? It does not work for me, the computer starts but I have a black screen, how can I or how do I install this graphics card? My current Bios is "icl50_1.45_black_edition_40.fd".

If the purchase of the HP NVIDIA Quadro FX 770M, it was a bad buy… What card can I buy, at least 1GB, and that is very easy to install?

Please explain in a simple way the steps to follow. Thank you very much to all.

See this thread. There is a list of cards confirmed to work with this notebook.

It all depends how badly you want to make this card to work. Most of the time the reason for mxm card to give black screen is wrong vbios. So you could try to blind flash it with one of the acer vbios from techpowerup database.

OK perfect thank you. I have already read all the messages of the link that I indicated. The only one who says that this card works in the Acer Aspire 7720g is a user named NetController and it seems that it is no longer around. The links indicated by this user are dead, there is no possibility of downloading anywhere.

Techpower vbios yes, but which one? And most importantly ... how is the blind flash done? It seems that since I updated my Bios to the Black Edition and after many attempts to update my Bios again with the "Fn" and "Esc" keys, to try to accept this card, it no longer works for me. My Acer seems to go into a kind of loop reading the CD / DVD reader and the USB stick, without doing anything.

So firstly we have to establish in what condition is your laptop now. "Fn" and "Esc" is combination for bios recovery, yes? So at the moment you have laptop which done recover?, stuck in the process, is bricked?. It's in the tought position. Could you then explain one more time all the thinks which you have done and what were the effects!
On which bios did you started, what happened when you put new graphics, what were the symptoms and what have you done later and to what this leaded at the end?
