    Hello Everyone,

I have an Aspire 5100 and would like to connect an external audio device to the laptop and record what is coming from the device using Windows Media Encoder.

I've purchased a stereo audio cable and plugged one end of it into the devices headphone jack and the other end into the laptops MIC jack. However, the laptopn NEVER hears the sound! I also plugged it into the LINE IN (second jack from the left on the front) and that doesn't work either.

When I plug a mic into the MIC jack, it works though.

    Any thoughts or ideas?
I even switched out stereo cables in case one was bad.

    Thanks
    Anthony

Oops, forgot to say: I'm running Win XP MCE fully patched on the laptop.
