Hi, I have a Acer Aspire 3500. I tried to use the restore CD's that came with the machine and when it is almost complete and on the third CD it is looking for a file X:Images\60EA3025.GHS. I browsed the 3rd CD and found a file X:Images\60EA3026.GHS but there is no 3025. It is totally automated. It stops and will not go further and there is no way out except to exit and now machine will not boot at all. Does anyone know where I might find this file so I can try to download it and complete the restore? Or any other fixes to get my machine to work again.
    Thanks

Unfortunately that's a ghost partition file, you can check the other disks and see if it's on any of them (maybe somehow it got the wrong disk number?) if not, unfortunately you might just have to be calling ACER to get restore disks.

Just purchased a 5610Z. Tried to create a default restore disk got an error message 3 times.

After several hours in service dept. store finally exchanged the 5610z. New 5610z created restore disk no problem.

Compared the restore disks made from laptop1 to laptop 2. Laptop 1 was missing file # d0e0a568.073 d0e0a568.074

PS. I exchange the laptop because it was freezing up. I thought the failure to create the restore disk was because I was using cheap DVD's.

Thanks so much for your help. I think it's great you took to time to help. [I did find the file on disk 2 so I will try to figure out how to get the machine to read the missing file from 2 that it thinks should be on 3.

Well hopefully you can just put in disk 2 when it's asking for that particular file, in general it doesn't know anything about disk numbers, just about file numbers, I think Ghost probably just asks for "next disk" and maybe numbers them but probably just as a counter for us people to use (having it say, insert disk with the following file ... wouldn't be very user friendly now would it).
