Does anyone have experience in modifying their GPU BIOS to overclock their graphic card? I know its risky, but my graphics card (ATI HD3470 hybrid x2) has no desktop equivalent so i cant use ATI Tools.
I have managed to get a 30% overclock, from 680 mhz to 880 mhz, while at the same time undervolted it by 0.1 volts.
Are there any long term consequences if its stable?

Overheating is the main thing to watch out for - especially in a laptop

It actually runs cooler or the same as stock frequencies, I think thanks to the 0.1 volt undervolt.

I've already modded my bios and I am already playing Modern Warfare 2 on my laptop, it runs noticeably faster now, I think so anyway.
There's separate clocks and voltages for different applications, how did you get a BSOD?
Does anyone know a safer method to overclock the ATI HD3470 hybrid x2?

Regardless of the OC, you are shortening the lifespan of your GPU. If you keep heat in check, then it dies much slower. But if it is manageable like you said, then it may be years down the road before it dies and by then it's going to be horribly outdated. Just keep it under 85C on load.

Ok, I don't need this GPU to last longer than 8 more months anyway. Would anyone be interested in a guide to overclocking their GPU?

Yes it's always interesting to read guides, even if I don't have an ATI GPU, please go ahead and write it ;)
