So Acer has a new line of fanless E 11 notebooks which are equipped with Bay Trail Celeron and Pentium processors. Granted these guys have TDPs of just 7.5 W, how likely is it that they will overheat, throttle, and/or burn out if constantly being pushed? (streaming music, videos and light gaming)

I love the small form factor and, being priced very similar to entry level Chromebooks, I'd really like to give them a try.

I'd say overheating wouldn't occur until the thermal pads or paste starts drying out. As for throttling, expect it. Throttling is common amongst ulv CPUs and I'd imagine even more so in fanless designs. When I had a Yoga 2 11 Bay Trail, fanless convertible, it would get hot underneath where the heatsink was. It was sort of uncomfortable because of how much heat would soak there. I never pushed it to its limits and even daily activities caused it to get pretty warm.

I have a Bay Trail quad atom in an 8" tablet less than half an inch thick. Never felt any heat in the 6 months I've owned it. The Celeron and Pentiums have a bit higher TDP and are clocked higher but they should be fine in a larger fanless shell.
