Anyone had any experience with Acer's tech support/warranty claims? I'd like to hear from people from the U.S. Acer is an international company and quality of tech support/warranty might vary from region to region. but all inputs are welcome.
I'm very interested in buying a TravelMate 4502LMI. I have read the post on TM 4500, seems to be a good quality laptop. any inputs on this specific model?
also, out of curiosity, how come nobody seems to care about Acer on the notebook market? from what i've seens so far Acer always seems to offer notebooks with very low prices compared to competitors' products with similar features. Is it just becuase its name is not big here in the U.S.? I have seen review that claims Acer's laptops used to be inferior but now they're really improving, selling excellent laptops (like the positive reviews i've seen in several places) and offering low prices. any comments on that?

Dualite,
I work for Acer repairing computers. The call center is about 50 feet from my desk. From what I've heard around here, Acer's tech support used to be just okay, but recently they had an overhaul and have improved a lot. As for no one caring for Acer on the market, we are supposed to be getting a new contract with someone big (Circuit City, or something) within a month or two. Maybe we'll see a lot more people with Acers around (my job depends on it!). -
thanks for the input. good luck with the job : )
so do you know how Acer's notebooks compare to other brands? -
From what I've seen, they are just as good quality as any other brand. I know that there has been several changes recently to improve the overall quality of Acer.

This is very good to hear.
I think its funny, you repair problematic acer's so the less acer's you see the better. But then your job gets pretty insecure. []
