Hi, I have just got the Acer Aspire Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 1.66GHz Laptop (EX5620-6389).

I am wondering if I need to condition the battery in any way. I read that certain battert types need to be fully charged and then decharged and then charged, but am some sure if/when this applies. The battery is a Lithium-Ion (Li-On). Hopefully someone here can help me understand what, if anything needs to be done.

    thanks in advance.

    thanks lithus.

based on reading the guide, I am thinking on buying a cheap secondary battery, and using and preserving my factory battery. The second battery might or might not be Li-On. Is this a good idea?

Are there any links for reliable cheap notebook batteries? I am in Ontario, Canada, so shipping is to be considered too.

    Thanks for any input.

Batteries break down whether you use them or not, so you can't "save" a battery.

My computer came with a 4800 mAh, 8 cell, Li-On battery. How much does a replacement of similar quality cost? Any links on retailers that a reputable?
