    Hi,
Hypothetical questions hopefully. Have an Aspire 9301 originally with XP, but I upgraded to Vista with the free offers at the time. Having the Vista DVD means I can always reinstall but I would lose the bundled applications originally supplied... NTI etc etc.
Question... When I use Acronis TI it always shows a "PQ Service partition" of around 4.7GB along with the C/D drives. Does that mean it is still intact ?
What would happen if I tried (ever) to recover from it seeing as I changed the FAT file format to NTFS etc on the C/D partitions.
I also have a recovery disc I burned straight out of the box. Would that rebuild it all back to as new with XP.
I hope never to have to do this... just wondering thats all.
    Thanks

You are welcome ... but its best to know from the start ... most people mess up everything , and then blame ACER .

I'm sure that's true. I always wondered what the recovery options were when I changed to Vista. Updated BIOS too from the original. I use Acronis anyway... total lifesaver sometimes. Thanks
