    I have read the review here of the Acer Aspire 1691 WLCi. I have not found a good in depth review of the Acer Aspire 1642 WLMi.
    What is the difference between the 2 other than price?

    Well, I took a look at Acer US website. Looks like the difference comes down to the Pentium M processor, DVD dual drive vs. CD/DVD drive.

    You can look at the differences here:

    Just choose the 2 models you are thinking of looking at and you'll see the differences between them.
