Since you are cleaning up you may as well delete (or update) this sticky too:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=106595
Thread has been closed since 2007. Most telephone numbers etc. don't work anymore in the countries listed. -
Edit: All phone numbers are now updated. Home pages and e-mails added. -
Good thing.
Theo -
I wouldn't use my Driver Comparison thread anymore - it's kind of ANCIENT.
Might do a newer comparison in the future, provided I can guarantee that I'll be able to restore from backup.
Still, what a great idea to get this up. Kudos! -
By the way guys can you post some link to XP drivers to include in the sticky? Every day someone ask for XP drivers.. -
Nice work ATG.
Just from the display point of view, you can add an index table on the top, and then link the rest of the stuff below....like a table of contents or something. -
-
XP drivers will be added to my GFX Drivers link eventually.
If people are so insistent on running an eight-year-old operating system on hardware designed for Vista, they can find 'em themselves. -
Sticky Update: I added the disclaimer from the Service Manuals so if you see people asking for it point them to the sticky to read the disclaimer. -
Good call on that.
I'm just handling GFX Drivers - someone else can post where to find the XP stuff for the rest of the common components. -
Sticky update: Latest News and Reviews direct link added. It uses the search engine though so can anybody check if it works fine? -
-
D'oh I just test it again and it doesn't work. I guess I'll remove the link and I won't put it back unless I find a way to make it work always.
-
Good sticky, as mentioned, i'll try and put together a recovery thread step by step. Be a couple of days.
-
I changed the title of this thread like 30 times and still don't like it. Anyone has a better suggestion? -
" ACER questions....check here first. The quickest link is here".
Or something along those lines..
Should get more folks attention in actually clicking on the sticky out of curiosity and reading what has been posted there. And learning.
Just a thought -
How about "LOOK HERE FIRST."
-
Cool but I think the title should include what is actually in the sticky. Otherwise the people may think it's a..rules sticky or something.
-
Update:
Added: Windows XP versions of Acer Empowering Software, thanks to NoCashBob. -
Update:
Added: direct links for the latest Acer reviews / "Reviews" section. /
Added: direct link to all XP drivers for Aspire 5515(which seems to be very popular model lately) thanks to freeheart4sale / "Drivers" section / -
ATG if i had your drive and motivation,,, i'd have beat you to the punch,,, but i'm kinda lazy and and these pills i've been taking have just zapped my energy.... (CHANTIX for smoking),,, but i don't crave a cigarette and hopefully never will again... that first 5 days was the worst!!!!
maybe now that i can quit taking the pill i'll feel a bit more social!
BTW
VERY NICE JOB WITH THE NEW STICKY..... expertly done! -
Thanks BigO much appreciated feedback from a long-time ACER crew member
-
Great thread
I think you should change the thread title to something like
****READ BEFORE POSTING*** ULTIMATE ACER RESOURCE THREAD
This will make it useful to more newbies, who might not other wise check the thread -
-
Cool, I like it, thanks.
-
Do you have access to a service manual or could you offer information on how to replace the screen of the Travelmate 3002 ?
-
-
Exactly, all he read was the new title
I knew more people would hit the thread with this title, but I HOPE they actually read the first post -
This sticky is really looking good ATG. Lot's of useful links etc. here.
Great stuff.
Cheers -
Sweet Thread ATG!
-
nice work ATG, i've missed this place big time.
-
Thanks for all the feedback guys, I really appreciate it.
-
OK, I've got my Vista benchmarks done. Please add them to the post!

Also, could a mod please change the name of the topic to remove the "(WIP)"? It's definitely not a work in progress anymore. -

2. Thread title changed as requested.

Seems like there's a new download page in town - more up to date than the Acer Euro FTP as well.

I honestly hope this is worth putting in the Resource Thread, because I spent a lot of time on it.
The Acer MXM Resource -
It sure will. I'll see if I can update the sticky today..
Edit: Done. -
