    Hello all,

    I have laptop Aspire 9815WKMi.

Last year, had the system upgraded with 2GB + memory so I had total and maximum 4GB with the Vista OS.
The 2GB from the original configuration were changed with 2 x 2GB chips.
Problems started right away. The OS was not able to start with 4GBs. After boot screen all I was able to see was the black screen.
What I did was, take off one chip, start the laptop and then turn off, put the other chip…. and then will work. The next starting again and again…
After formatting my laptop with 4GB, it was generally OK, but I never reached the speed I supposed to have with 4 GB installed RAM.

Yesterday I formatted my hard drive to put XP with SP2 as OS because I’m sure that my programs will work faster installed on XP. I think that Vista eats lot of my memory.
The setup was not able to continue after rebooting the system with 4GB RAM, so I took off one chip to have the Windows installed and now
when I try to put back one chip more its not starting (black screen after booting). Also I tried with 3GB but it’s the same as with 4GB.

Can you please advice what could be the cause of this problem and what do you suggest for further.
Now I work only with 2GB ram.
