My Timeline 4810TZ comes with SU4100 1.3Ghz, 3GB DDR3 RAM, Samsung 400GB HDD. I installed Win 7 32 bit. I'm getting random freeze during normal usage such as browsing, file copying etc. I have tried running Prime95(3 tests), OCCT and Linpack, Memtest86+(DOS) and Windows memory diagnostics. No problem were detected. I reinstalled OS with Win 7 64 bit and still facing the same problem. Occasionaly there will be BSODs. I have installed the latest BIOS with all the latest drivers available.
Is there compatibility problem with Win 7 OS or there is hardware problem with my Timeline?

What model are you using? Yup, I getting very random freeze. It happens once every few hours, sometime once a day.
I agree the laptop rocks but I can't stand it freezing randomly. Are you using Win 7? -

I downgraded from Windows 7 to Win XP now. Less crash now but I still experience a few time of lock-ups. I will be sending my laptop to Acer for board replacement. Not sure it's hardware or OS problem.
My system is 100% stable with OCCT, Prime95, Linpack, memtest 86+, Windows memory diagnostics and etc. It might be other hardware problems or OS compatibility problem. I've experienced tons of freeze in Win 7 and now downgraded to XP Pro. Less lock-ups in XP but I still think it's hardware problem so sending to Acer. -
i tried downgradng my bios to 1.12 (my original one) from 1.28 but sumthng went wrong n my laptop is no longer powerng on....so sent d laptop for repairs @ acer service....i told them abt the stability problems they wre like thre r some patches for this model to fix ths probs....they said they'l do all d patch work b4 giving it back to me..let c...dunno hw come only few of us face this system freeze problem when thre r tons of ppl owng this model...

this could be completely different, but it might be worth a shot:
installing intel matrix storage console solved the lockups on my aspire 6920g -

Do you always talk like this mayank? If my kids talked like that I would smack them and then their English teacher.

I got DOA replacement because don't have time to do board replacement. So far no freeze in Win XP Pro. HAvent try Windows 7 but I hope it's not OS issue because I'm looking forward to use Win7.
Maybe he's fustrated with the problem.
I have all the latest drivers including Intel AHCI installed but still having the same problem. I guess it's OS compatibility or hardware issue.
