If you are checking these forums before you make an Acer purchase, you'll want to hear about my experience before buying. I have had my TravelMate C300 for three weeks. Out of that three weeks, it has actually worked for about 5 days, it has dumped my data, including notes taken through the tablet software, three times. I sent it in for repair after the usb ports stopped working. It came back and the usb ports worked, but the battery did not. Apparently the repair people broke the battery. I no longer trust this machine and asked that it be replaced. I was told that replacement is not possible and that I have a "repair" warranty. I not only have a warranty, but I spent $280 dollars on an extended warranty. Both offer "repair or replacement." The support staff is rude and even made it difficult for me to buy the extended warranty. Not once has anyone apologized for this bad product. DON'T BUY ACER!

Sounds like you got a bad unit for sure. Did you buyt it retail or on-line ? Who did you buy the extended warrenty from ?

I don't think this reflects overall Acer quality , but I completly understand your frustration on a large $$ purchase that is defective.

If you are not satisfied with your repairs, escalate your compliant as high as you can with the place you purchased it from. The Beter Buisness Bureau, Acer (registered "snail mail") , various agengies, perhaps your area has a local 'trouble shooter'. Write into various magazines (I think PC mag has a section for unsatified complaints where they interject on your behalf). Bottom line is don't take it sitting down.

    Good Luck
