When I had XP, my computer came with the Realtek Audio Driver stuff, and in the control panel of Realtek's thing was many options for different speaker setups... 5.1, 7.1 etc.

I installed Vista, got the latest driver from Realtek's website, and the speaker configuration is blocked out... stuck in stereo. Also, my microphone jack acted as my line in jack and I had a device called "digital output" which was assigned to a jack that doesn't exist.

So, I tried the old XP drivers... no go. I tried other drivers from Realtek... no go. I finally got the Vista drivers from Acer's site, that still did nothing.

Is there any possible solution outside of reinstalling Vista... which I honestly think won't work...

For wireless on Vista, just download the latest drivers from the Intel websiite. Works like a charm.
