Hello everyone, I have my friends laptop here and it continues to reboot until it eventually stops after a few times. Unfortunately the screen is broken as well, therefore I can't see if there is a message of some sort popping up. I tried going into the boot mode and enabling vga onto an external monitor but it wont remain on long enough for me to do so. Any ideas? Thank you! (It's an Acer Aspire 5601 AWLMi)
Heres a video(Sorry for quality but it doesn't matter just watch the power light and HD light): http://media.putfile.com/LaptopProblem1

Thanks for the reply! Theres no way it can be overheating because it's only on for a good 10 seconds tops if that.

does it get to load windows before reboot or does do right away in bios ? do get anything on screen?
is this laptop stock config? -
Stock config, the screen is broken so I need to reboot using a VGA monitor and I'll throw you more info tonight.

By the sound of it, the HDD is dying. Either that or one of the RAM sticks is faulty. Since the screens broken, its probably cheaper just to buy a new machine. Hope this helps
Reboot problem!
