    Hi

I have put all my files I want to keep on the D Drive partition of my machine. I am just about to use the recovery option as Ive finally got windows vista, and would prefer it to go over a fresh copy of windows xp. Been waiting 3 weeks for windows vista upgrade after they eventually shipped it!

My question is, will the recovery option erase all files on the d drive partition? This partition was already here when I got it and is called acerdata, thanks

If you're using eRecovery from Acer, that will only affect C Drive. Any data and D Drive will be safe.

it really depends on the software, I had an Acer recovery which also wiped drive D clean. But if vista setup is same as xp then you will be prompted durign setup which partition you want to format and use
