I have have an Acer aspire 5672 and I am trying to use the windows recovery console and I don't know what the admin password is.

Is this something set by Acer? How can I figure out what the password is?

    Thanks in advance.

tried that, it didn't work. I'm almost certain it was a password set by Acer.

I ran into the same problem with my X60. I tried my WinXP logon password. Nothing. blank space. Nothing. Its probably a password that Acer setup. Try giving theri tech support a call.

    Try admin.

Ok, I figured it how. Somehow the password was my first default password for Acer Data Security or whatever. I have since changed the default password, so I have no idea how that password became the admin password :S
