Replaced hard drive on acer 5532. restore disk will not run. I'm running stock except the hard drive. I did make a file of system components and attached it.
I put the system disk in and give the selections
it loads and asks recovery disk one
I put it in and it loads files to 44% and stops and ejects disk...error 23 cyclic redundency I think.
Could it be a bad disk from Acer?
I have a copy of windows 7 and it loads and runs fine with the exception of lan not working or being in the device manager. Wlan works great.
I just need to set the machine back to like factory to have the programs. It is still in warranty.....should have sent it back. Acer support is not the best!
Any advice?
Thanks in advance

Sounds like a bad disk or the wrong ones. OMG don't send the unit back for a software install. Email or call support and see if they will send out new disks pronto.
And, you're correct, Acer support is not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Thanks for the reply. I was saying it should have been sent back when the hdd went out.
What do you think about the ethernet not in device manager? Since it is integrated with the mobo is it a driver issue? I can't load a driver because there is no device to drive. Chipset driver not on Acer support for my model. -
Cyclic redundancy check almost always means there's an error on the disc

Thanks, I ordered replacement disks from Acer.
Recovery disks bought from acer not working.
