    Red line across display - Aspire 1520 series

    Red line appeared across my Acer notebook's diplay ...1522 WLmi ..is there any cure for this matter ....Another line apears (green) if I lightly pull top ends of a display in diferent directions....

    Currently located in a country without Acer support center so .... any kind of advice (or a service manual) is very welcome .... :(

    Usually when you have a line across the screen, there's 2 possibilities.

    1. The LCD is busted and needs to get replaced
    2. The video cable attaching to the LCD is loose and may be causing the lines to appear = needs to be sent in for repair and cable re-attached.

    Either case, you're gonna have to send it in for repair. You can try taking apart the LCD and see if it's a loose cable, but I wouldn't recommend this unless you know what you're doing. If you crack the LCD while trying to open it up, Acer won't warranty this kind of damage even though you're still under warranty.

    Thnx Venombite.....Another line apeared couple of hours later ....When I move the display (opening/closing the laptop) it seems that I get more and more lines since I can see the third one if I bend the display a little bit..... not much....I would not dare to take it apart ...at least not without a service manual which I do not have at this moment .... I will try to contact the firm which sold me the laptop but in Bosnia .....you never know what will happen ....So thank you ....now at least I know in which direction I will go to get this fixed .....Thnx
