I was just wondering, that since the 5672WLMi only has an average build quality, would it help if you swapped out the externals with another notebooks that has teh same size, like say the Travelmate? I know the keyboard is curved and all,but with the use of some "modifications",wouldn't it be possible? or use cases/shells from other brands so that it feels tough? Would that void my warranty? It shouldn't,should it - like as long as I put it back together when I send it out for repairs...

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    Amol.

I would say it is quite imposssible unless the replacement chassis resembles your original. Keyboard is just a minor thing in a chassis. The ports might be located in different areas of the laptop, the battery might be different, the screen hinges would also vary from laptop to laptop. The location of the screws, the motherboards also vary in shape and size and are built to fit a particular chassis. So, replacing it with another is pretty much out of the question.

You could try reinforcing the current chassis withthings which might make the weaker areas stronger though.

How would I do that? Would it void my warranty?
