My sister brought an Aspire 4810T about 4 months ago. It came with vista home premium 32bit.
She upgraded to windows 7 home premium 32bit using a disk which she now can't find, but she says that she brought it from the acer website.
I'm presuming she was eligible for the windows 7 upgrade period.

I want to reformat and reinstall windows 7 on her laptop, but she can't find the original disk, so I don't know where to start?
I tried to follow this guide:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/ace...dows-7-acer-passes-offlne-oem-activation.html

But it doesn't have version 2.1, only 2.0. I tried to find the correct bios to update to on the acer website, but it is extremely confusing and lacks any decent instruction.

    Can anybody help me.
Reinstalling windows 7 has never been this ridiculous before!

Version 2.0 is fine, but it sounds as if you cannot prove entitlement to the W7 license.

If she used a microsoft key off a DVD to install it you could recover it using SIW or a similar license code reader .

You would be better advised to find the install disk though as otherwise your install is going to be indistinquishable from piracy.
