Okay, so what would be the advantages/disadvantages to removing my battery whilst running on AC power? I think I read somewhere that temperature would decrease? Any other things to consider?

    Thanks

Personally I would leave it in unless you are planning on using it without the battery for a long time. The battery won't be damaged by leaving it in as it will stop charging once it hits 100%.

Using the battery is safer since it helps prevent data loss in case of power fluctuations/failure.

All true. But I have my out 99% of the time. Lasts much longer. ( I have a laptop with 4 years old battery good as new).

    Cheers,

Ha. Good point. :) I guess my job is so I work mostly surrounded with power sockets and I have to work on many different places. So my laptop is in fact a true "desktop replacement". BTW that battery is on my old asus m6n - still used by my friend, but mainly on battery now. My new battery already has 13% wearlevel. But guess what - I was playing CS:CZ yesterday for an hour and a half on wireless and battery (on gma900) and I was surprised by a low consumption of the gma adapter. Even a ****py 4400mAh battery lasted enough for total of 180 kills. :)

    Point taken, cheers,

    Ivan
