    Hi all,
    Has any1 tried to remove their optical dvd rom drive out of their acer?
    If so how did you remove it, What screws did you have to undo?

    Go to the Acer website and look for the Users Manual for your model. Most manufacturers have instructions on how to remove and disassemble parts.

    obviously you unlug the battery and power, unscrew the three screws where the hinges are and take that cover off, then you unscrew the keyboard and left it off. Then you'll see the tab that is screwed down to the mainboard, unscrew that and then you should be able slide the drive out.
